Reasons Why We Should Take Care of the Environment:

Human Health - The more we neglect our environment, the more it will come back to hurt us. For example a major problem, air pollution, can cause respiratory diseases and cancer, among other problems and diseases.
Future Generations - The world we live in right now has been shaped by past generations. We will leave a lasting impact on future generations. But how should we seek to leave our legacy? Do we want future generations to frown at us for leaving them with numerous environmental problems?
Food Security - A healthy environment is necessary for the production of food and the maintenance of healthy ecosystems. The unpredictable nature of climate change is making food product more difficult and unpredictable.
Biodiversity - Biodiversity is a topic that has been discussed in the "Environmental Global Concerns" page as well as in a Zoom webinar. It refers to the varieties of plant, animal, and even microbial species that live in a given region. It can be negatively influenced by habitat loss and degradation due to human activity, climate change, and pollution, among other things.
Moral Reasons, Earth Is Our Home - As the most prevalent and dominating species on Earth, it is our duty to take care of the planet. We only have one planet, which is our home and livelihood.
Overall Costs - Taking care of the environment means that less individual and governmental funding that is spent on the mitigation of these problems. Issues such as pollution, ocean acidification, and sea level rise are costly issues leading to increased health and economic-related problems.
Aesthetic Value - Earth is our planet, and a beautiful one as well. The natural world has significant aesthetic, cultural, and spiritual value, and can serve as an inspiration for art, literature, and other forms of human expression. Harmful environmental practices can lead to the degradation of Earth's most beautiful and peaceful settings.
Recreational Opportunities - Along with Earth's aesthetics, it provides with a multitude of opportunities to directly enjoyed it. For example, who would want to take a trip to Yosemite National Park if there were no beautiful redwoods?
In the end economically, biologically, socially, and mindfully we ALL benefit!

What Can We Do?
The problems we are facing now are tough. However, the good news is that, you don’t have to be an expert or a millionaire to save the planet – everyone can help to do their bit for the environment. In other words, if each of us can be more conscious of environmental issues and willing to take some simple steps to save the planet, we can make a huge contribution. With increasing environmental awareness among the public, people around the world are coming together to fight for a greener future, and the effort has achieved great results. Earth has given us everything we have, so wouldn't it just be right for us to give back a little to? Any effort, step, we take will make a difference in the environment.
